Finance Minister expresses govt resolve to achieve macro-economic stability

April 23, 2021: Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has reiterated the firm resolves of the government in achieving macro-economic stability and sustained economic growth by following a consultative process.

He made these remarks while talking to the Country Director of World Bank Group Najy Benhassine, who made a courtesy call on him in Islamabad on Friday.

The Finance Minister apprised the Country Director that the first Economic Advisory Council meeting had decided to work towards reinvigorating the productive sectors of the economy.

He said the EAC will facilitate sound economic planning by chalking out short, medium, and long-term plans to set the course for inclusive and sustained economic growth.

He stated that the continued support of the World Bank, as a major development partner, is critical to attaining fiscal consolidation, improved service delivery, and good governance in Pakistan.

The Country Director, WBG thanked the Government of Pakistan for continuous support and facilitation in the completion of ongoing projects and programs.
