Fertilizer offtake surges by 45.4% YoY in Oct’21

November 24, 2021 (MLN): The country’s total nutrients offtake grew by 45.4% to 563,000 tonnes during October 2021 from 387,000 tonnes in the same period last year, the latest monthly data of fertilizer offtake issued by the National Fertilizer Development Company (NDFC) showed on Wednesday.

Among the nutrients, nitrogen and phosphate offtake increased by 39.3% and 59.5%, respectively during October 2021. While potash offtake went up by 23.7% when compared to October 2020.

The report underlined that about 802,000 tonnes of different fertilizer products were manufactured in Pakistan during the month of October 2021. The major share was of urea (67.2%) with 539,000 tonnes.

Other products were DAP 75, NP 85, CAN 77, SSP 14.4, SOP 0.9 and different grades of NPK 11,000 tonnes. About 296,000 tonnes of fertilizer products have been supplied through imports which comprised 274,000 tonnes of DAP, 2,200 tonnes of SOP, 7,300 tonnes of MOP, 7,000 tonnes of MAP and 5,200 tonnes of AS, it added.
