February exports witness slowdown in growth by 7.5% MoM

March 18, 2019 (MLN): According to the provisional figures compiled by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, exports from Pakistan during February, 2019 amounted to $1,889 million (provisional) as compared to $2,043million (provisional) in January, 2019 showing a decrease of 7.54% and by 0.37% as compared to $1,896 million in February, 2018.

Exports during July-February, 2018 -2019 totaled $ 15,113million (provisional) against $ 14,838 million during the corresponding period of last year showing an increase of 1.85%.

Main commodities of exports during February, 2019 were Readymade garments (Rs.31,293 million), Knitwear (Rs.29,839 million), Cotton cloth (Rs.24,527 million), Bed wear (Rs.24,299 million), Rice others (Rs.19,831 million), Cotton yarn (Rs.15,012 million), Towels (Rs.9,708 million), Rice Basmati (Rs.8,300 million), Made-up articles (excl. towels & bed wear) (Rs.7,674 million) and Fruits (Rs.6,406 million).
