FATF's Plenary meeting to take place on 20-22 February 2019

January 10, 2019 (MLN): The next plenary meeting of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) will take place on 20-22 February 2019, an official spokesperson of the organization told Mettis Link News over email, today.

After the meeting, the FATF will update its public documents identifying jurisdictions with strategic deficiencies in their AML/CFT measures.

In conclusion to its last visit to Pakistan in October 2018, the FATF AGP group advised the country to take more steps against terror financing and money laundering activities, to tighten laws, rules and regulations, and to fix flaws in the mechanism of running institutions.

The international body asked the government to keep a record of transactions, from 3000-15000 US dollars and euros, taking place in the form of assets, gold and other sectors like metal business and law firms.
