European stock markets fall at open

May 16, 2019: European stock markets fell modestly at the start of trading on Thursday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index down 0.2 percent at 7,281.42 points.

In the Eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 dropped 0.2 percent to 12,077.36 points and the Paris CAC 40 lost 0.2 percent to 5,365.37, compared with Wednesday's closing levels.
