Energy minister confirms DISCOs privatization plan by April 2025

August 29, 2024 (MLN): The government, in collaboration with the Privatization Commission, will move forward with the privatization of Distribution companies (DISCOs) by April next year, Minister for Energy, Sardar Awais Ahmad Leghari stated while talking to a private news channel today.

He said that the first batch of Distribution Companies will have their Expression of Interest published in April 2025.

Moreover, the final transactions are expected to be completed within three to six months thereafter.
