ECC to decide on gas allocation for FFBL from Jhim East field

February 13, 2024 (MLN): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet is scheduled to meet today at 03:00pm to discuss the summary from the Ministry of Petroleum regarding the allocation of gas from Pakistan Petroleum Ltd's Jhim East X-1 discovery to Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Limited (PSX: FFBL).

The committee will also deliberate on the approval of sharing of subsidy on imported urea at 50:50 basis technical supplementary grant.

Furthermore, the committee will review the summary regarding the approval of amendment in the import-cum-export scheme of IPO 2022 to allow temporary import of automobiles for repair/restoration works in Pakistan and subsequent re-export.

Another agenda of the meeting is to discuss a summary from the Ministry of Commerce regarding the individual tariff rationalization proposals from different sectors for the review of customs duties.

The committee will also review permission to import wheat and flour under export facilitation scheme 2021.

Additionally, the committee will review the summary from the Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Division regarding the report on inflation.

Another significant agenda item is the approval of commissioning of 1263 MW CCPP Punjab Thermal Power (Pvt) Limited, Jhang (PPTL), presented by the Ministry of Power.
