ECC permits cotton imports from Afghanistan

November 22, 2018 (MLN): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet has sanctioned cotton imports from Afghanistan, given that proper health certificate are provided.

This was decided in a meeting of the committee, which took place earlier today with Finance Minister Asad Umar in chair.

The committee has further decided that around 200,000 metric tons of wheat from government warehouses, will be sold the poultry association, at a rate of Rs.1300 per maund.

Apart from this, the ECC has also issued an approval on the release of Rs.1.6 billion to the widows of Pakistan Steel Mills’ employees.
