Dollar reaches all-time high in interbank

February 02, 2023 (MLN): The value of the dollar reached a new all-time high level at the interbank market in Pakistan. The dollar rate hit Rs272, a rise of Rs3.17 compared to the previous day.

This increase in the value of the dollar is particularly noteworthy when considering the period of Prime Minister Shahbaz Shareef's government, during which the dollar appreciated by 89.07 rupees.

Over the past few years, the dollar has appreciated by 48.6% in Pakistan.

The continued rise in the value of the dollar is causing concern for the country's economy and is being closely monitored by authorities.

The impact of the increase in the value of the dollar is also being felt by citizens as imports become more expensive, and the cost of living rises.
