Cotton arrivals reach 6m bales as on October 15

October 18, 2023 (MLN): Cotton arrivals in Pakistan have reached 5.996 million bales as of October 15, 2023, data released by the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) on Wednesday showed.

The total cotton arrivals have increased by 61.7% YoY compared to 3.708m bales in the Same Period Last Year (SPLY).

The provincial breakup shows that Punjab contributed 2.5 million bales, while Sindh accounted for 3.4 million bales.

In comparison to the data for October 01, in which the total arrivals were 5m bales, cotton arrivals increased by 19.92%.

It is important to mention that currently, there are 665 ginning mills in operation.

Pakistan is among the top ten cotton-producing countries in the world, and cotton and textile products are among the country’s major exports.
