June 9, 2020 (MLN): The equity market endured a lackluster session and rose slightly on Tuesday as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 54 points only or up by 0.16% and closed the session at 34,803 mark.

Although the investors are anticipating a business-friendly budget still they adopted wait and see approach before the clarity emerged regarding the federal budget, which kept the upside limited.

The Index traded in a range of 168.27 points or 0.48 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 34,855.24 and a low of 34,686.97.

Of the 94 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 48 closed up 43 closed down, while 3 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 145.55 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 61 points, Cement with 19 points, Pharmaceuticals with 16 points, Textile Composite with 16 points and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 14 points.

The most points added to the index was by UBL which contributed 30 points followed by LUCK with 27 points, DAWH with 14 points, AGP with 13 points and NESTLE with 11 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 39 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 23 points, Fertilizer with 12 points, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 9 points and Tobacco with 7 points.

The most points taken off the index was by PPL which stripped the index of 23 points followed by HUBC with 19 points, ENGRO with 10 points, POL with 9 points and PAKT with 7 points.

All Share Volume increased by 15.87 Million to 238.28 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.1.23 Billion.

Total companies traded were 357 compared to 355 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 190 closed up, 143 closed down while 24 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 3,697 to 96,754.

Value Traded increased by 0.45 Billion to Rs.9.14 Billion
