Call it Eid gift or a blessing but the markets are finally holding on to the much needed positive momentum. Despite being a choppy day during the intraday trading, the market ended the session in green. The markets opened after three day long Eid holidays.
The market activity during the day was choppy to say the least as the market ticker moved up and down during the day. The session started off with a steep fall as the reaching a low of 46115.60 points, but picked up later on more than 800 points to reach intraday high of 47086.47 points. The markets settled the day on 46711.85 points.
The session witnessed a cumulative incline of 379.54 points or a 0.82 percent.
The index touched an intra-day high of 47086.47 and a low of 46115.60 points, and closed at a tally of 46711.85 points.
The net gainers during today’s session were; Nestle Pakistan NESTLE 1.96%, Philip Morris PMPK +5.00%, Murree Brewery MUREB +5.00%, ICI Pakistan ICI 2.91% and Pakistan Tobacco Company PAKT 1.96%.
The net decliners during the session were; Exide Pakistan EXIDE -5.00%, Atlas Battery ATBA -4.15%, Wyeth Pakistan WYETH -1.77%, Hinopak Motors HINO -2.25% and Ghandhara Industries GHNI -4.17%.
All Share Volume decreased by 107.4 Million to 187.40 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs. 88.79 Billion.
Total companies traded were 385 compared to previous session’s number of 377. Of the scrips traded 123 closed up, 240 closed down while 22 remained unchanged.
Total trades increased by 4,658 to 64,884.
Value Traded decreased by 0.8 Billion to Rs.12.59 Billion.
