July 09, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 132,576.98, showing a decrease of 826.21 points or 0.62%.

The index traded in a range of 1,240.20 points showing an intraday high of 133,566.37 (+163.18) and a low of 132,326.17 (-1,077.02) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 161.03 million shares. 

Of the 100 index companies 27 closed up, 70 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were PSEL (-5.04%), HGFA (-3.07%), SCBPL (-2.62%), NML (-2.59%), and PSO (-2.20%).

On the other hand, top gainers were BNWM (+10.00%), GADT (+10.00%), YOUW (+4.32%), NATF (+3.32%), and MEHT (+2.79%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-120.22pts), ENGROH (-81.84pts), BAHL (-74.42pts), PSO (-61.19pts), and HBL (-59.07pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were NATF (+22.80pts), GADT (+13.71pts), MEBL (+13.06pts), TPLRF1 (+10.37pts), and MARI (+9.56pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-198.84pts), Fertilizer (-173.91pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-91.01pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-69.31pts), and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-56.08pts).

While the index was supported by Textile Spinning (+13.71pts), Real Estate Investment Trust (+10.37pts), Food & Personal Care Products (+7.03pts), Sugar & Allied Industries (+4.98pts), and Woollen (+1.35pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 82,983.67 with a net loss of 204.38 points or 0.25%.

Total market volume was 905.74 million shares compared to 1,206.52m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs30.53 billion showing a decrease of Rs11.50bn.

There were 393,704 trades reported in 477 companies with 199 closing up, 254 closing down, and 24 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 6,950 points or 5.53% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 17,450 points or 15.16% so far this calendar year.
