Sep 02, 2020 (MNL): The KSE-100 index ended the trading session on Wednesday with a 457.59 point or 1.11 percent gain to close at 41,834.85.

All share volume was the highest witnessed since September 20, 2016, as well as the highest trades recorded in over a decade. Moreover, this is the highest index close since January 30, 2020.

Positive sentiments and momentum from the previous sessions continued to uplift the index, with several investors partaking in trading activity. The highlight of the session was NBP trading at the upper circuit after it announced its financial performance for the half-year ended June 30, 2020.

The Index remained positive throughout the session touching an intraday high of 41,933.52

Of the 96 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 72 closed up and 24 closed down. Total volume traded for the index was 526.72 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 90 points, Fertilizer with 81 points, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 49 points, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 39 points and Cement with 35 points.

The most points added to the index was by ENGRO which contributed 38 points followed by UBL with 34 points, NBP with 31 points, DAWH with 28 points and EFERT with 26 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Miscellaneous with 4 points, Engineering with 2 points and Cable & Electrical Goods with 1 points.

The most points taken off the index was by HUBC which stripped the index of 13 points followed by SHFA with 4 points, MEBL with 3 points, FCEPL with 3 points and HINOON with 2 points.

All Share Volume increased by 77.66 Million to 837.02 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.91.83 Billion.

Total companies traded were 425 compared to 424 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 281 closed up, 130 closed down while 14 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 26,797 to 203,672.

Value Traded increased by 4.45 Billion to Rs.26.18 Billion
