October 30, 2019 (MLN): The KSE-100 index saw another lackluster performance today, as it lost merely 36 points in today’s session and closed at 33,761-level.
The Index traded in a range of 281.42 points or 0.83 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 33,952.57 and a low of 33,671.15.
Of the 93 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 41 closed up 51 closed down, while 1 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 78.70 million shares.
Sector wise, the index was let down by Fertilizer with 39 points, Miscellaneous with 31 points, Commercial Banks with 30 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 21 points and Cement with 13 points.
The most points taken off the index was by PSEL which stripped the index of 24 points followed by ENGRO with 22 points, HBL with 15 points, LUCK with 15 points and FFC with 12 points.
Sectors propping up the index were Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 35 points, Tobacco with 31 points, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 28 points, Pharmaceuticals with 24 points and Insurance with 4 points.
The most points added to the index was by PSO which contributed 32 points followed by PAKT with 31 points, DAWH with 27 points, SEARL with 15 points and MCB with 11 points.
All Share Volume decreased by 95.12 Million to 129.96 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.16.20 Billion.
Total companies traded were 345 compared to 345 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 142 closed up, 178 closed down while 25 remained unchanged.
Total trades decreased by 11,526 to 55,657.
