Byco clarifies news regarding an oil spill from its pipeline

October 26, 2018 (MLN): Byco Petroleum Pakistan Limited (BYCO) has issued clarification regarding certain reports on media suggesting that an oil spill has taken place near Mubarak Village in Balochistan and attributing this to a nearby oil refinery or other unknown source.

Byco clarified that no leak or loss of containment has taken place from any of its installations and all such reports purporting to the contrary are totally baseless, false, irresponsible and misleading.

Balochistan’s Environmental Protection Agency (BEPA) and Pakistan’s Maritime Security Agency (MSA) both confirmed that there was “No Oil Spill form Byco’s SPM or pipeline.”
