April 23, 2025 (MLN): The importance of increased private sector investment to generate employment opportunities was emphasized during discussions between Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and Mr. Martin Raiser, World Bank’s Vice President for South Asia.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the IMF/WB Spring Meetings in Washington D.C.

The Minister appreciated the approval of the World Bank’s 10-year Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for Pakistan and thanked the Bank for its continued support towards Pakistan’s economic reforms, digitalization, and energy sector agenda.

He underscored the need for accelerated operationalization of the CPF and emphasized the timely identification of projects to be implemented in specific sectors, as per the press release.
