AJK Development Working Party approves connectivity projects worth 5 billion rupees

The AJK Development Working Party (DWP) in its first meeting for the financial year 2018-19 held in Muzaffarabad on Monday approved fourteen projects costing about five billion rupees.

Additional Chief Secretary Development Dr Syed Asif Hussain presided.

These projects are related to the communication sector. 290 km long roads would be constructed and blacktopped in Neelum, Muzaffarabad, Jhelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch, Sadhnooti, Kotli, Mirpur and Bhember districts.

Addressing the meeting Dr Syed Asif Hussain directed all departments to prepare PC-1 of their respective projects so as to initiate work on these as early as possible.  He said projects of the previous financial year are being monitored effectively. The government wants to provide better traveling facilities to people and tourists at remote areas of the state.
