Steps ordered to protect food supply

September 10, 2025 (MLN): Urgent measures must be taken to safeguard food security in the country following the recent flood devastation, President Asif Ali Zardari directed during a meeting with Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The President emphasized the importance of protecting farmers, ensuring the uninterrupted availability of essential commodities and promoting modern, climate-resilient agricultural practices.

He expressed confidence that the Ministry of National Food Security & Research would continue implementing effective strategies to enhance productivity, improve storage and distribution systems and build long-term resilience in the agriculture sector.

Former Federal Minister and Parliamentary Leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party in Senate, Ms. Sherry Rehman, was also present during the meeting.
