SECP grants approvals to boost digital lending sector

August 28, 2025 (MLN): The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has issued an Investment Finance Services license to Foremost Financial Services (Pvt.) Limited to operate as a Non-Banking Finance Company (NBFC).

Concurrently, Instant Finance (Pvt.) Limited has been granted prior approval for registration as an NBFC under the regulatory framework.

Foremost Financial Services will provide digital nano-lending in Pakistan, while Instant Finance plans to extend digital loans to small and medium enterprises.

The sponsors of both entities maintain international business operations in Indonesia, Mexico and Nigeria, signaling renewed investor confidence and rising foreign investment in Pakistan’s regulated financial sector.

These approvals fall under SECP’s agenda to facilitate credible foreign institutions, diversify the NBFC sector, and encourage innovative companies to operate in the market.

The Commission has reaffirmed its commitment to financial inclusion, digital transformation, and a supportive regulatory environment through swift licensing processes across the financial services industry.
