SBP unveils Rs75 Pakistan-China friendship coin

May 20, 2026 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will issue a Rs75 commemorative coin to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

The coin will be available to the public from May 25, 2026, through exchange counters of SBP Banking Services Corporation field offices across the country. Pakistan and China officially established diplomatic relations on May 21, 1951.

According to the central bank, the commemorative coin has been issued following the Government of Pakistan’s decision to mark the longstanding diplomatic partnership between the two countries.

The coin is round in shape with serrated edges and is made of copper-nickel composition containing 75% copper and 25% nickel. It carries a weight of 19 grams and measures 36 millimeters in diameter.

On the obverse side, the coin features Pakistan’s crescent and star symbol in the center, along with the inscription “Islami Jamhuria Pakistan” in Urdu.

The year “2026” appears below the crescent, while the denomination “75” and the word “Rupia” in Urdu are displayed on either side.

The reverse side highlights the theme of the anniversary with the inscription “75th Anniversary of Pakistan and China Diplomatic Relations” along the upper edge and the words “Trust Friendship Support” along the lower edge.

The national flags of Pakistan and China are displayed in the center above an artistic representation of the number “75,” alongside the years “1951” and “2026.”

The reverse side also includes inscriptions in Urdu, English, and Chinese languages reflecting the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
