PTCL & Ufone secure PCI DSS v4.0.1 certification

May 20, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan’s leading telecom and digital services providers, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited and Ufone, have successfully obtained the PCI DSS v4.0.1 certification for 2026, reinforcing their commitment to secure payment card data handling and adherence to global cybersecurity standards.

The certification was awarded by Risk Associates, a globally recognized PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA), following an independent evaluation of PTCL & Ufone’s cloud infrastructure and cardholder data environment.

According to the assessment, both organizations have implemented strong security frameworks designed to mitigate risks of data breaches, fraud, and unauthorized access, while further enhancing trust in digital financial transactions, as per press release issued.

Commenting on the achievement, PTCL & Ufone Chief Technology and Information Officer Jafar Khalid said the certification underscores the company’s continued focus on aligning with international security benchmarks and safeguarding sensitive customer information.

Managing Director Risk Associates, Kashif Hassan, noted that PTCL & Ufone demonstrated strong compliance with PCI DSS v4.0.1 requirements, supported by mature cloud infrastructure and robust data protection practices.

The certification further strengthens PTCL & Ufone’s position in delivering secure, compliant, and resilient digital services across Pakistan’s growing telecom and fintech ecosystem.
