November 04, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan has expressed a strong desire to deepen cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in the fields of transport, logistics, and infrastructure development, highlighting major investment opportunities in the country’s expanding motorway network.
Federal Minister for Communications Mr. Abdul Aleem Khan
extended an invitation to Saudi investors to participate in Pakistan’s flagship
infrastructure initiatives, including the M-6 Motorway (Sukkur–Hyderabad),
M-10 Motorway (Hyderabad–Karachi Port), M-13 Motorway
(Kharian–Rawalpindi), and the Mansehra–Naran–Jalkhad–Chilas (MNJC) Road.
He emphasized that the MNJC project holds strong
commercial potential due to its tourism appeal, offering an attractive
opportunity for both public and private sector investors from Saudi Arabia.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Pakistan International
Maritime Expo and Conference (PIMEC 2025) in Karachi, Mr. Aleem Khan
highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation under the Strategic
Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA), which has strengthened economic and
developmental ties between the two brotherly nations.
He also briefed the Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistic
Services, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Aljasser, on Pakistan’s growing road
infrastructure and the government’s focus on developing new motorway projects
to boost regional trade and connectivity.
Pakistan reaffirmed its support to Saudi Arabia in the
upcoming International Maritime Organization (IMO) elections, while the
Saudi side expressed readiness to collaborate in technology, road safety, and
logistics development.
The meeting concluded with both sides reiterating their
commitment to long-term cooperation and sustainable development in transport
