Pakistan, Uzbekistan explore joint ventures in mining and minerals

September 18, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Uzbekistan have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the mining and minerals sector, recognizing the vast deposits in Pakistan and Uzbekistan’s expertise in mineral mining.

The understanding was reached during a meeting between Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Haroon Akhtar Khan and officials of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology in Tashkent on September 17, 2025.

Both sides emphasized the potential for collaboration and decided to hold regular ministerial-level engagements to pursue practical cooperation in the mining industry.

Earlier in the day, the SAPM visited Techno Park in Tashkent, where he reviewed the production of household and electronic products.

He expressed special interest in joint ventures for the manufacturing of modern gas and electricity meters as well as solar water heaters.
