Pakistan, Turkiye pledge stronger defense and security ties

September 05, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Turkiye reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their time-tested strategic friendship and enhancing bilateral defense and security cooperation during a meeting in Rawalpindi between Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza and Commander Turkish Air Force General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu.

The two sides held detailed discussions on professional matters, with emphasis on the evolving global and regional geo-strategic environment.

They also shared strategic priorities and stressed the importance of bilateral collaboration in promoting peace and stability in the region.

General Kadioglu expressed appreciation for the professional standards of the Pakistan Armed Forces, their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and their continued contributions toward regional peace and stability.

Earlier, upon arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, he was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent.
