November 03, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Türkiye have agreed to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation, reaffirming their commitment to deepening economic ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration.

The understanding was reached during a meeting between Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Türkiye’s Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat in Istanbul, held on the sidelines of the 41st Session of the COMCEC, said a press release issued today.

The two sides discussed measures to further strengthen trade relations and promote investment between the two brotherly nations.

The Turkish Trade Minister expressed his government’s strong desire to expand trade engagement with Pakistan and assured that Türkiye would review Pakistan’s proposals favorably in the upcoming round of trade negotiations.

Jam Kamal Khan briefed his Turkish counterpart on reforms being undertaken by the Government of Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to enhance efficiency, transparency, and investor confidence.

He emphasized that Pakistan is emerging as a promising destination for Turkish investment across multiple sectors.

Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat also invited Jam Kamal Khan to attend the upcoming Halal Expo in Istanbul on November 25, highlighting the importance of cooperation in halal trade and related industries.

Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen their economic partnership and expand collaboration in trade, investment, and industrial development, reflecting the close and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Türkiye.

The latest engagement builds on the growing momentum in Pakistan-Türkiye relations, which Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif recently described as entering “a new era” of economic, strategic, and defence cooperation.

Speaking at an event marking Türkiye’s National Day, the Prime Minister emphasized that ties between the two nations are rooted in “unwavering solidarity, mutual trust, and shared aspirations,” and are now expanding into broader areas of regional peace, technological advancement, and joint development.
