Pakistan, Iran reaffirm commitment to strengthen bilateral ties

November 25, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Iran on reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen cooperation across multiple sectors and work closely on regional and global issues of shared concern.

The commitment was emphasized during a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Dr. Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, APP reported.

Dr. Larijani, who arrived in Islamabad late Monday on an official visit, was received by DPM Dar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The senior Iranian official is expected to hold meetings with Pakistan’s top leadership to review recent progress in bilateral relations, assess the status of joint agreements, and discuss key regional and international matters, including issues important to the Muslim world.

Speaking to the media upon his arrival, Larijani highlighted Pakistan’s pivotal role in regional stability, noting that strong cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad contributes to peace across the region.

Before departing for Islamabad, he posted in Urdu on X, describing Pakistan as a “friendly and brotherly country” and expressing gratitude for the support extended by the Pakistani people during the 12-day war Iran faced in mid-June.

He emphasized that both Iran and Pakistan being influential states place high importance on maintaining peace and security in the region.
