Pakistan, Germany commit to boosting trade and investment

September 29, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Germany  have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening economic cooperation and expanding avenues for trade, investment, and development partnership

This was emphasized during a meeting between Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and German Ambassador Ina Lepel in Islamabad, said a press release issued today.

The finance minister welcomed the Ambassador and appreciated Germany’s longstanding technical and financial assistance to Pakistan.

He highlighted recent improvements in economic indicators, Pakistan’s progress under the ongoing IMF review mission, and the government’s focus on creating an investment-friendly environment led by the private sector.

Senator Aurangzeb also briefed the envoy on the challenges posed by climate change and the devastation caused by recent floods, while assuring full facilitation for foreign investors, including German firms, with respect to profit repatriation and related matters.

Ambassador Lepel, recalling her earlier diplomatic assignment in Pakistan from 2013 to 2015, expressed support for the government’s reform agenda and stressed the potential for enhanced bilateral trade and investment.

 Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening Pakistan-Germany ties through sustainable economic collaboration and new business opportunities.
