September 04, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their shared resolve to further strengthen their iron-clad, all-weather strategic cooperative partnership during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Beijing on today.

In their warm and friendly interaction, the two leaders expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan-China relations.

The Prime Minister conveyed his deepest gratitude to the Chinese leadership and nation for their unwavering support to Pakistan’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and socio-economic development.

Paying tribute to China’s transformation under President Xi Jinping’s visionary leadership, Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan aspires to emulate China’s successes and build a stronger Pakistan-China community with a shared future.

He highlighted that the government’s reform efforts are producing promising results with China’s strong support and informed Pakistan’s intent to float Panda Bonds in the Chinese capital market soon.

On the economic front, he stressed the vital role of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Pakistan’s socio-economic progress over the past decade.

Stressing the need for early implementation of ML-I, KKH realignment, and the operationalization of Gwadar Port, both sides agreed to accelerate work on the next phase of upgraded CPEC 2.0, with its five new corridors.

The Prime Minister also emphasized vast potential for B2B cooperation and investment, sharing details of the B2B Investment Conference held earlier in the day, attended by over 300 Pakistani and 500 Chinese companies.

He identified agriculture, mines and minerals, textile, industrial sector, and IT as priority areas for collaboration.

Reiterating Pakistan’s support for President Xi Jinping’s landmark global initiatives, including the Global Governance Initiative, Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative and Global Civilization Initiative, Shehbaz Sharif assured full cooperation.

Both countries will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.

The two leaders also attended a ceremony marking the signing of multiple MoUs and agreements covering cooperation in CPEC 2.0, science and technology, IT, media, and agriculture.
