Pakistan BCI decreased by 1.2 points in July

July 30 , 2025 (MLN): The overall Business Confidence Index (BCI) decreased by 1.2 points, reaching 55.5 in July 2025, according to the latest results of the Business Confidence Survey (BCS).

This was conducted by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in collaboration with the Institute of Business Administration (IBA).

The Industry sector had a notable decline of 3.5 points in its Business Confidence Index (BCI), bringing it down to 54.2. Meanwhile, the Services sector saw a marginal dip, with its BCI edging down by 0.5 points to 55.9.

The headline index “Overall Business Confidence” is comprised of two sub-indices: the Current Business Confidence Index (CBCI) and the Expected Business Confidence Index (EBCI).

Current Business Confidence

The CBCI, which shows business sentiment over the month, fell by 2.2 points to 53.6 in July 2025. 

Expected Business Confidence

EBCI, which represents expectations for the next six months, decline by 0.4 points to 57.3.

Inflation Expectations

The Inflation Expectations (IE) of businesses decreased by 1.2 points to 68.6, with the Services sector experiencing a slight rise by 0.7 points to 67.9.

Employment

Expected Employment Index decreased by 0.4 points to 55.2.

Capacity Utilization

The Average Current Capacity Utilization (ACCU) in the Manufacturing sector decrease by 1.5 to 66.0%
