PSX nudges firms to reveal gender pay gap or risk SECP action

July 09, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has reminded all listed companies to ensure mandatory disclosure of gender pay gap data in their annual reports and on corporate websites, ahead of the upcoming earnings season.

The local bourse, in a fresh notice, emphasized compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan’s (SECP) Circular No. 10 of 2024, issued under the Prime Minister’s Women Empowerment Package (PM-WEP) 2024.

This directive requires companies to publish comprehensive gender pay gap data, aiming to bolster transparency and accelerate gender equality in the corporate sector.

Firms with a June 30 financial year-end have been specifically advised to incorporate this disclosure in their forthcoming annual reports, using the SECP’s prescribed template.

PSX cautioned that any failure to comply or submission of incomplete data could trigger enforcement actions by the regulator.
