PSX Intra Day: Breaking New Heights

September 04, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) extended its bullish momentum on Thursday, as the benchmark KSE-100 Index surged to an intraday high of 153,411.05 points at 10:40am, reflecting gains of 1,209.18 points.

Market activity remained robust as the KSE-100 Index recorded a trading volume of 159.91 million shares, underscoring strong investor participation.

The rally was driven by broad-based buying interest, supported by improved economic sentiment and solid performance in key sectors including cement, banking, oil and gas exploration, oil marketing companies, power generation, and refinery stocks.

 

During intraday trading, the top gainers were JDWS (+5.11%), TRG (+4.36%), PSX (+3.57%), AKBL (+3.46%), and CHCC (+3.01%).

On the flip side, the top losers included IBFL (-3.05%), GHGL (-1.68%), NATF (-1.64%), HCAR (-1.55%), and HMB (-1.44%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were FFC (+138.95pts), SYS (+70.43pts), HUBC (+67.68pts), UBL (+55.52pts), and MARI (+48.91pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were OGDC (-67.51pts), EFERT (-50.26pts), MCB (-48.19pts), ENGROH (-36.41pts), and HMB (-27.89pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Cement (+173.90pts), Fertilizer (+115.61pts), Technology & Communication (+111.52pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+79.12pts), and Automobile Parts & Accessories (+22.40pts).

While the index was let down by Pharmaceuticals (-26.14pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-20.00pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-15.21pts), Glass & Ceramics (-14.16pts), and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-10.93pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index during intraday trading reached 93,479.23 with a gain of 146.22 points or 0.16%.

Total market volume stood at 391.35m shares compared to 1,043.23m in the previous session, while traded value was recorded at Rs20.17bn, down Rs31.14bn.
