PSX Closing Bell: Off to a Green Start

September 29, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Monday's trading session at 163,847.68, showing an increase of 1,590.68 points or 0.98%.

The index traded in a range of 1,844.98 points showing an intraday high of 163,903.62 (+1,646.62) and a low of 162,058.64 (-198.36) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 483.73 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 60 closed up, 40 closed down, while 0 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were AIRLINK (+10.00%), FABL (+9.64%), POML (+9.35%), YOUW (+7.53%), and PSO (+6.16%).

On the other hand, top losers were NPL (-9.04%), UPFL (-5.59%), THALL (-3.63%), MTL (-2.86%), and DGKC (-2.52%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were FFC (+406.22pts), PSO (+220.41pts), HBL (+135.21pts), NBP (+134.84pts), and FABL (+122.31pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-55.01pts), LUCK (-51.38pts), DGKC (-50.63pts), MTL (-48.30pts), and MLCF (-31.70pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+750.90pts), Fertilizer (+449.02pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+251.46pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+124.68pts), and Technology & Communication (+124.09pts).

While the index was let down by Cement (-150.46pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-60.21pts), Automobile Assembler (-33.00pts), Automobile Parts & Accessories (-29.65pts), and Food & Personal Care Products (-21.91pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 52,359.10 with a net gain of 508.32 points or 0.98%.

Total market volume was 1,285.64 million shares compared to 1,714.92m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs65.77 billion showing a decrease of Rs4.98bn.

There were 532,378 trades reported in 482 companies with 235 closing up, 216 closing down, and 31 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 38,220 points or 30.42% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 48,721 points or 42.32% so far this calendar year.
