PSX Closing Bell: Green Shoots Rising

September 10, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 157,020.79, showing an increase of 457.27 points or 0.29%.

The index traded in a range of 1,399.90 points showing an intraday high of 157,479.42 (+915.90) and a low of 156,079.52 (-484.00) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 437.13 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 51 closed up, 47 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were LOTCHEM (+10.02%), LCI (+10.00%), HUMNL (+9.28%), TRG (+6.28%), and GADT (+5.77%).

On the other hand, top losers were PIOC (-2.78%), KEL (-2.61%), YOUW (-1.78%), POML (-1.75%), and JVDC (-1.70%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were EFERT (+141.61pts), PPL (+78.52pts), BAHL (+76.85pts), LCI (+70.90pts), and MARI (+56.51pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-114.33pts), UBL (-90.42pts), HBL (-44.71pts), FFC (-35.12pts), and MEBL (-31.01pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+162.05pts), Chemical (+107.18pts), Fertilizer (+104.85pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+79.68pts), and Textile Composite (+60.94pts).

While the index was let down by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-119.19pts), Commercial Banks (-86.89pts), Cable & Electrical Goods (-12.67pts), Property (-7.45pts), and Insurance (-6.70pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 95,556.69 with a net gain of 353.93 points or 0.37%.

Total market volume was 996.27 million shares compared to 1,068.52m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs52.73 billion showing a decrease of Rs2.46bn.

There were 455,922 trades reported in 485 companies with 225 closing up, 227 closing down, and 33 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 31,393 points or 24.99% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 41,894 points or 36.39% so far this calendar year.
