June 12, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 124,093.12, showing a decrease of 259.56 points or 0.21%.

The index traded in a range of 2,871.73 points, showing an intraday high of 126,718.28 (+2,365.60) and a low of 123,846.55 (-506.13) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 371.98 million shares.

However, the index achieved a record intraday high of 125,675.57 points today at 11:06 AM, rising by 1,322.89 points or 1.06%.

The intraday low was recorded at 124,807.09 points, reflecting a gain of 454.41 points or 0.37%. Total traded volume during this period stood at 74.63m shares.

The intraday rise was driven by post-budget stability, record remittances, and hopes of monetary easing, supported by the 2025–26 budget, which signaled fiscal continuity and reduced policy uncertainty.

 

Of the 100 index companies 35 closed up, 63 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were HUMNL (-4.55%), KEL (-4.20%), POML (-3.83%), PSX (-3.73%), and AKBL (-3.19%).

On the other hand, top gainers were BNWM (+10.01%), PKGP (+10.00%), GHGL (+7.30%), IBFL (+4.84%), and NML (+3.76%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-113.40pts), FFC (-81.67pts), PPL (-75.62pts), OGDC (-70.33pts), and BAFL (-60.29pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were PKGP (+124.83pts), UBL (+64.92pts), BAHL (+58.80pts), LUCK (+56.88pts), and DGKC (+41.10pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-131.09pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-128.32pts), Fertilizer (-83.95pts), Automobile Assembler (-41.76pts), and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-25.04pts).

While the index was supported by Cement (+144.23pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+49.77pts), Glass & Ceramics (+43.30pts), Textile Composite (+17.95pts), and Miscellaneous (+15.15pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 77,106.29 with a net loss of 221.51 points or 0.29%.

Total market volume was 1,024.56 million shares compared to 1,041.13m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs50.54 billion showing an increase of Rs3.83bn.

There were 489,502 trades reported in 474 companies with 170 closing up, 270 closing down, and 34 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 45,648 points or 58.19% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 8,966 points or 7.79% so far this calendar year.
