PSX Closing Bell: Don’t Stop the Climb

September 04, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 152,665.72, showing an increase of 463.85 points or 0.30%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 153,411.05 (+1,209.18) and a low of 152,264.96 (+63.09) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 407.27 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 52 closed up, 48 closed down.

Top gainers during the day were BOP (+5.70%), AKBL (+4.34%), PIBTL (+4.11%), FATIMA (+3.19%), and TRG (+2.99%).

On the other hand, top losers were SCBPL (-3.36%), EFUG (-3.08%), IBFL (-2.35%), BAHL (-2.29%), and INIL (-1.99%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were FFC (+144.96pts), LUCK (+144.19pts), SYS (+91.24pts), MARI (+53.22pts), and AKBL (+50.67pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were BAHL (-114.52pts), OGDC (-58.89pts), HBL (-55.73pts), EFERT (-48.98pts), and ENGROH (-34.72pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Cement (+266.92pts), Fertilizer (+138.50pts), Technology & Communication (+117.21pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+43.44pts), and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+14.46pts).

While the index was let down by Commercial Banks (-66.90pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-29.86pts), Pharmaceuticals (-23.42pts), Textile Composite (-18.84pts), and Real Estate Investment Trust (-14.25pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 93,512.72 with a net gain of 179.71 points or 0.19%.

Total market volume was 954.33 million shares compared to 1,043.23m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs46.05 billion showing a decrease of Rs5.26bn.

There were 439,172 trades reported in 480 companies with 208 closing up, 240 closing down, and 32 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 27,038 points or 21.52% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 37,539 points or 32.61% so far this calendar year.
