June 04, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan's Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif stressed the need for immediate follow-up on decisions taken during his recent visit to China, emphasising expansion of cooperation under CPEC 2.0 in agriculture, IT, industries including SEZs, and mines and minerals.

He also called for timely implementation of MoUs signed at the B2B Investment Conference in Hangzhou, while other discussions covered fast-tracking of the KKH realignment project, security, counter-terrorism and defence cooperation, economic and financial support, and the evolving regional and international situation.

The Prime Minister made these remarks during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong at the Prime Minister House.

Adviser to the PM Dr. Syed Tauqir Shah, SAPM Syed Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Amb. Amna Baloch were also present, said a press release issued.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister conveyed warm regards to President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, reaffirming his resolve to strengthen the Pakistan-China All Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

He appreciated the Ambassador's efforts in making the May 23-26 visit successful.

Ambassador Jiang, in turn, assured Pakistan of China's commitment to its iron-clad brotherhood with the country and cooperation across all spheres.
