PKR rises by 8 paisa against USD

July 31, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) increased by 8.11 paisa or 0.03% against the US dollar in Thursday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 282.87 per USD, compared to previous closing of 282.95.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 284.5 and a low (ask) of 285.5.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 283.00 for buying and 285.50 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR appreciated 3.28 rupees or 1.00% against the Euro, closing at 323.73 compared to the previous value of 327.01.

Against the British Pound, PKR rose by 3.46 rupees or 0.91% to 374.73 compared to 378.19 a day ago.

The local unit gained 3.73 rupees or 1.06% against Swiss franc to close at 347.98.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value strengthened 1.90 paisa or 0.99% to close the session at 1.8923 versus 1.9113 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee rose 8.47 paisa or 0.21% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.33 from 39.41.

The local currency increased by 2.16 paisa or 0.03% against Saudi Riyal to 75.41. While it increased by 2.00 paisa or 0.03% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 77.01.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 89.32 paisa or 0.32%. While it has decreased 4.32 rupees or 1.53% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates increased by 19bps to 10.77% and 11.02%.
