PKR rises by 5 paisa against USD

June 25, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) rose by 4.62 paisa or 0.02% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 283.72 per USD, compared to previous closing of 283.77.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 284 and a low (ask) of 285.75.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 283.70 for buying and 285.80 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR weakened 3.16 paisa or 0.01% against the Euro, closing at 328.99 compared to the previous value of 328.96.

Against the British Pound, PKR weakened by 94.46 paisa or 0.25% to 386.37 compared to 385.43 a day ago.

The local unit depreciated 2.81 rupees or 0.80% against Swiss franc to close at 352.30.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value appreciated 0.18 paisa or 0.09% to close the session at 1.9525 versus 1.9543 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee fell 2.94 paisa or 0.07% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.56 from 39.53.

The local currency fell by 0.99 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 75.65. While it rose by 1.58 paisa or 0.02% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 77.25.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has fell against the US Dollar by 5.38 rupees or 1.90%. While it has decreased 5.17 rupees or 1.82% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 2bps to 10.95% and 11.20%.
