PKR remains flat against USD

November 20, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) gained by 0.98 paisa against the US dollar in Thursday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.65 per USD, compared to previous closing of 280.66.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.00 and a low (ask) of 281.70.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.00 for buying and 281.70 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR rose 1.84 rupees or 0.56% against the Euro, closing at 323.30 compared to the previous value of 325.13.

Against the British Pound, PKR rose by 2.06 rupees or 0.56% to 366.84 compared to 368.90 a day ago.

The local unit rose 3.02 rupees or 0.86% against Swiss franc to close at 348.10.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value strengthened 2.18 paisa or 1.21% to close the session at 1.7830 versus 1.8048 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee gained 3.85 paisa or 0.10% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.44 from 39.48.

The local currency rose by 0.66 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 74.83. While it depreciated by 0.57 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.42.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 3.11 rupees or 1.11%. While it has depreciated 2.10 rupees or 0.75% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.94% and 11.19%.
