PKR increases by 3 paisa against USD

August 29, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) increased by 3.11 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Friday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.77 per USD, compared to previous closing of 281.80.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 282.3 and a low (ask) of 283.6.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 282.90 for buying and 283.70 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR weakened 93.59 paisa or 0.29% against the Euro, closing at 328.89 compared to the previous value of 327.95.

Against the British Pound, PKR gained by 16.88 paisa or 0.04% to 380.07 compared to 380.24 a day ago.

The local unit fell 37.84 paisa or 0.11% against Swiss franc to close at 352.00.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value depreciated 0.29 paisa or 0.15% to close the session at 1.9168 versus 1.9139 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee deteriorated 4.80 paisa or 0.12% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.52 from 39.47.

The local currency appreciated by 0.22 paisa or 0.00% against Saudi Riyal to 75.10. While it rose by 1.05 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.71.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has appreciated against the US Dollar by 1.99 rupees or 0.71%. While it has fell 3.22 rupees or 1.14% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.78% and 11.03%.
