PKR increases by 2 paisa against USD

September 29, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 1.71 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.35 per USD, compared to previous closing of 281.37.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.35 and a low (ask) of 281.4.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.20 for buying and 282.40 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR fell 1.06 rupees or 0.32% against the Euro, closing at 329.65 compared to the previous value of 328.59.

Against the British Pound, PKR fell by 2.03 rupees or 0.54% to 377.86 compared to 375.83 a day ago.

The local unit fell 1.06 rupees or 0.30% against Swiss franc to close at 352.97.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value decreased 1.46 paisa or 0.78% to close the session at 1.8931 versus 1.8785 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee depreciated 8.09 paisa or 0.21% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.52 from 39.44.

The local currency strengthened by 0.26 paisa or 0.00% against Saudi Riyal to 75.02. While it appreciated by 0.46 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.60.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 2.41 rupees or 0.86%. While it has depreciated 2.80 rupees or 1.00% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.84% and 11.09%.
