PKR falls 4 paisa against USD

June 30, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) fell by 4.22 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 283.76 per USD, compared to previous closing of 283.72.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 284 and a low (ask) of 286.1.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 284.00 for buying and 285.95 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR decreased 6.37 paisa or 0.02% against the Euro, closing at 332.66 compared to the previous value of 332.59.

Against the British Pound, PKR rose by 1.08 rupees or 0.28% to 388.86 compared to 389.93 a day ago.

The local unit weakened 16.40 paisa or 0.05% against Swiss franc to close at 355.33.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value decreased 0.50 paisa or 0.25% to close the session at 1.9700 versus 1.9650 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee decreased 2.49 paisa or 0.06% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.60 from 39.58.

The local currency fell by 1.12 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 75.66. While it deteriorated by 1.15 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 77.27.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has depreciated against the US Dollar by 5.42 rupees or 1.91%. While it has fell 5.21 rupees or 1.84% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 4bps to 10.88% and 11.13%.
