November 04, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistan Industrial
Development Corporation (PIDC) has been recognized as a key driver of the
country’s industrial growth, with the government reaffirming its commitment to
boosting exports, attracting investment, and strengthening Pakistan’s industrial
base.
During a visit to PIDC, Special Assistant to the Prime
Minister on Industries and Production, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, was briefed by
the Corporation’s CEO on its performance, ongoing projects, and future plans,
said a press release issued today.
The meeting reviewed major developments, including the
Master Plan of Karachi Industrial Park, the land lease policy for Bin Qasim
Industrial Park, and the establishment of a customs bonded warehouse.
Mr. Khan emphasized that PIDC serves as the backbone of
Pakistan’s industrial structure and plays a pivotal role in implementing the
new industrial policy envisioned by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
He noted that the government’s focus remains on building a
strong industrial base and generating employment opportunities nationwide.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the Karachi
Industrial Park, he said the project will boost national exports, open new
avenues for investment, and strengthen Pakistan’s industrial ecosystem.
Under the new industrial policy, greater facilitation will
be provided to local industries, he added, underscoring PIDC’s crucial role in
ensuring effective policy implementation.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transparency,
modern infrastructure, and industrial reforms, stressing that efficiency and
accountability in PIDC projects remain top priorities.
A comprehensive strategy, he said, is being developed to
make PIDC’s role more dynamic and impactful in driving sustainable industrial
growth.
