JazzCash CEO reiterates human centered innovation in Global Remittances

October 09, 2025 (MLN): At the International Association of Money Transfer Networks (IAMTN) Global Summit 2025, Murtaza Ali, Chief Executive Officer of JazzCash, joined global fintech leaders to discuss how empowered leadership and emerging technologies are redefining the future of international remittances.

Speaking during a high-level panel discussion, Ali reinforced how Pakistan’s remittance landscape is shifting “from convenience to empowerment.”

He noted that in FY25, Pakistan received a record $38.3bn in remittances, stressing the rapid adoption of digital channels that are transforming cross-border inflows into meaningful financial inclusion.

“Every transaction that moves through a digital channel carries a human story a freelancer’s pride, a son’s promise, a mother’s relief,” Ali remarked. “Through JazzCash, millions of Pakistanis now send and receive remittances safely and instantly, creating financial footprints that open doors to savings, insurance, and credit bridging them to the formal economy.”

Record Growth in Digital Remittances

Showcasing Pakistan’s ongoing digital transformation, Ali revealed that JazzCash has processed over 4.7 million remittance transactions in 2025 so far, with volumes expected to reach 7m by year-end.

The platform continues to serve as a key enabler of financial connectivity, linking millions of overseas Pakistanis with their families at home.

He added that JazzCash hosts Pakistan’s largest freelancer base, with more than 600,000 active accounts, allowing digital professionals to receive global payments instantly and securely.

Significantly, one in every three JazzCash users is a woman, many of whom utilize remittance inflows to support household budgets or invest in small scale businesses turning each transaction into a step toward economic empowerment.

Ali emphasized that leadership in digital remittances requires speed without compromising reliability.

“Every transaction is a relationship built on confidence,” he said. “At JazzCash, technology walks hand in hand with responsibility every payment is verified, every partner is regulated, and every customer is protected. That’s how we scale both transactions and trust.”

Concluding his remarks, Ali said that the next frontier of global fintech leadership lies in human-centered design.

“Leadership today isn’t about owning technology; it’s about owning trust,” he noted. “The region is emerging as a true digital financial-services hub because we’re pairing innovation with inclusion. At JazzCash, we’re proud to make remittances simpler, faster, and more human.”

The IAMTN Global Summit 2025 brought together global experts, policymakers, and industry pioneers to discuss the evolving remittance landscape and explore pathways to enhance cross-border financial connectivity through digital innovation.
