November 14, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan’s top welfare ministries have renewed their focus on nationwide poverty reduction, with senior officials agreeing to strengthen coordination to expand the outreach and impact of social protection programs, according to details shared after a high-level meeting in Islamabad.

Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, met with Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, to discuss ongoing initiatives aimed at supporting low-income households and vulnerable communities.

During the discussion, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah briefed Sardar Muhammad Yousaf on key welfare programs under the Ministry, noting that the Benazir Kafaalat Programme and the Nashonuma Scheme continue to deliver financial and nutritional assistance to millions of deserving families nationwide.

He also highlighted the role of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) in promoting economic self-reliance through community-driven development projects, while Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) remains instrumental in providing financial support to at-risk households.
