July 22, 2025 (MLN): The government has reaffirmed its strict enforcement of the 6% job quota allocated for Balochistan in federal employment, according to Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry.

While responding to a motion in the Senate, the Minister highlighted that Balochistan’s quota was increased from 3.5% to 6%, surpassing the province’s share of the national population.

He emphasized that the enhanced quota is being actively implemented.

Dr. Chaudhry informed the House that recruitment has already been completed for 45,809 out of 49,162 posts reserved for Balochistan.

The individuals appointed under this quota are currently serving in various federal departments in grades 1 to 16.

He further stated that the process to fill the remaining 3,353 positions is ongoing and is being carried out transparently, as per the press release issued.

The Minister categorically ruled out any possibility of reallocating Balochistan’s quota to another province.

The Senate session concluded with a declaration that the House will reconvene on Thursday.
