September 4, 2026 (MLN): The Rs415 billion N-25 Karachi–Quetta–Chaman Pakistan Expressway is expected to significantly reduce travel time and distance between Karachi and Quetta while strengthening trade, transportation and economic activities in Balochistan and the country.
The project is being prioritized along with other National
Highway Authority (NHA) schemes across Balochistan, including the proposed Zhob
Bypass and other important highways, with measures being taken to ensure their
timely completion.
The development of the communications sector and progress on
ongoing and proposed NHA projects were reviewed, including the construction of
major highways across the province, according to APP.
Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan said
the Pakistan Expressway would make travel between Karachi and Quetta faster and
more convenient and serve as an important trade route for Balochistan as well
as the country.
He said that, given Balochistan’s geographical importance, a
modern and secure road network in the province was vital for national
development and regional trade.
Aleem Khan said the Ministry of Communications and NHA were
continuously monitoring the progress of ongoing projects in Balochistan, while
all necessary measures were being taken to improve communication and
transportation facilities across the province.
Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail
appreciated the federal government’s special attention to National Highway
projects in the province and lauded efforts regarding the N-25 Pakistan
Expressway.
He said completion of highway projects would provide better
travelling facilities to the people while creating new opportunities for trade
and economic activities.
Federal Secretary for Communications, Chairman NHA and other
relevant officials were also present.
