September 24, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan has significantly enhanced its diplomatic engagement on regional and global fronts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) informed the 14th meeting of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs held today.

The briefing highlighted that, despite ongoing global uncertainties, Pakistan’s proactive foreign policy initiatives have resulted in a noticeable increase in diplomatic outreach.

These efforts have bolstered Pakistan’s image as a credible partner in regional and international affairs, reinforcing trust among strategic allies.

The Committee, chaired by Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar, noted that Pakistan’s recent high-level inbound and outbound diplomatic engagements, including strengthened ties with neighboring countries and strategic partners, have contributed to a more robust foreign policy stance.

Among these developments, the Committee welcomed the mutual defence and security cooperation agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, underscoring its potential to deepen bilateral relations.

Committee members Mr. Muhammad Khan Daha, Ms. Nuzhat Sadiq, Ms. Shaista Pervaiz, Ms. Farah Naz Akbar, Ms. Ayesha Nazir, Ms. Shazia Marri, Mr. Isphanyar M. Bhandara, and Dr. Muhammad Farooq Sattar attended the session.

The meeting also covered regional connectivity initiatives, with discussions on trade and transit routes aimed at positioning Pakistan as a long-term regional connectivity hub.

The Chair emphasized the importance of consistent policy-making and prioritizing viable projects to maximize economic and strategic benefits.
