Fast Cables’ quarterly profit nears 90%

October 27, 2025 (MLN): Fast Cables Limited (PSX: FCL) reported a net profit after tax of Rs387.6m for the three months ended September 30, 2025, up 87% from Rs206.8m in the corresponding quarter last year.

Earnings per share increased 88% to Rs0.62 compared to Rs0.33 in 3MFY24.

Revenue rose 20% year-on-year to Rs8.64bn from Rs7.2bn, demonstrating strong demand during the quarter. Cost of revenue increased 17% to Rs7.16bn from Rs6.14bn.

Gross profit grew 39% to Rs1.48bn against Rs1.06bn in 3MFY24, with the gross margin improving to 17.1% from 14.8% in the prior year quarter, indicating enhanced operational efficiency and better pricing power.

Distribution cost declined 8% to Rs315.4m from Rs342.7m, while administrative expenses rose 23% to Rs158.9m. Total operating expenses (excluding cost of revenue) remained relatively flat, increasing marginally by 1% to Rs474.3m from Rs471.5m last year.

The company recorded an operating profit of Rs1.01bn, up 70% from Rs592.3m in 3MFY24.

Other operating expenses increased 2.1 times to Rs92.5m from Rs44.7m in the previous year.

Finance costs decreased 26% to Rs369.5m from Rs497m, providing significant relief to the bottom line. Other income declined 56% to Rs112.4m from Rs253.4m last year.

Profit before levy and taxation stood at Rs655.9m, up 2.2 times from Rs303.9m in 3MFY24. Levy/final taxation stood at Rs621 thousand in 3MFY24, which was absent in the current quarter.

Profit before taxation increased 2.2 times to Rs655.9m from Rs303.3m in 3MFY24.

Taxation increased 2.8 times to Rs268.2m from Rs96.5m in the prior period.

The company concluded 3MFY25 with a net profit of Rs387.6m, delivering a net profit margin of 4.5% compared to 2.9% in 3MFY24.

The strong profit growth was driven by robust revenue expansion, improved gross margins, and substantially lower finance costs, demonstrating solid operational performance and effective cost management.
